Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy
A foam medicine called a sclerosant is injected into the diseased vein, which irritates the endothelium resulting in closure. These veins are tributaries that were not closed with the initial endovenous laser ablation.
Blood is then naturally rerouted through healthier veins while the body reabsorbs the closed veins. An ultrasound machine is used to guide the procedure, therefore increasing accuracy and safety.
