Atrophie Blanche
Atrophie blanche is the descriptive name given to the appearance of porcelain-white scars seen on the lower extremities.
The porcelain white area are hardened leg hyperpigmentation and spider veins. This findings is a sign of severe chronic venous disease and not to be confused with healed ulcer scars. Scars of healed ulceration also may have atrophic skin pigmentary changes but are distinguishable by history of ulceration and appearance from atrophie blanche and are excluded from this definition.
Atrophie blanche is the intermediate state between venous dermatitis and ulceration
